Guns into Art (pdf file - open with Acrobat Reader)
There are around seven million guns buried in caches all over Mozambique. They are a legacy of the countrys bitter 16-year civil war (1977-1992). Christian Aid partner the Christian Council of Mozambique (CCM) is working to help people exchange these tools of war for tools that will enable people to earn a living. The charity then hands the guns over to local artists who turn these weapons of war into icons of peace.

Ram Chamreun works with the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), which is supported by Church World Service, one of Christian Aid's partner organisations.
